Our Story

I started Sugamama Hair when I was just 19, after leaving university and chasing a path that actually felt right for me. I was a self-taught braider, working with what I had, learning as I went and I quickly realised there was a real gap in the Australian hair industry for braiding, styling, and protective care that truly catered to textured hair.

What began as me doing braids in my room turned into a full-blown business. I’ve spent years behind the chair, working with so many beautiful people and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:

Hair builds confidence.

There’s nothing like watching someone see themselves in the mirror after a fresh style standing taller, smiling wider. That feeling is everything to me. That’s what Sugamama Hair is all about.

What’s Next?

After years of working hands-on, I’m now shifting into teaching and creating digital products so more people can learn the skills, grow their confidence, and create their own lane in the hair world.
